26 December 2024

Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) hosted a 3-day motivational camp at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (“UTM”) Johor Bharu from 28 to 30 November 2024. The camp, attended by 80 students and 14 teachers from its seven adopted primary schools in Mukim Serkat, Pontian, aimed to inspire young minds and strengthen our bond with the local community.

The schools that participated were SK Seri Sinaran Chokoh, SK Andek Mori, SK Permas Kelapa, SK Serkat, SK Sg Durian, SJKC Pei Chiao and SK Sungai Boh.

The three-day motivational camp featured a variety of engaging and educational activities aimed at fostering teamwork, boosting confidence and equipping students with essential life skills. Highlights included the "Membina Pasukan Cemerlang" activity, which focused on developing collaboration and effective communication, as well as "Ceramah Motivasi Pelajar", which aimed to inspire students to overcome challenges and excel both personally and academically.

The Jungle Survival activity provided hands-on experience in basic survival techniques, teaching resilience and adaptability in outdoor settings. Another highlight was "Malam Bakat Pelajar", a platform for participants to showcase their unique abilities, encouraging creativity and self-expression. Finally, the "Teknik Belajar Berkesan" sessions introduced strategies to enhance academic performance by improving focus, memory and study habits, empowering students with the skills needed for success both in education and in real-life situations.

On the final day of the camp, the closing ceremony was attended by the presence of the Penolong Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (“PPD”) Hal Ehwal Murid, Encik Safuanezam Mahmud, a representative from Tanjung Bin Power Plant (“TBPP”), Encik Mohamed Ali Mohamed and Timbalan Pesuruhjaya Kelanasiswa Malaysia from UTM, Encik Zulkarnain Zainal. The event concluded with presentation of certificates to all participants, recognising their active involvement throughout the camp.

This initiative is part of Malakoff's commitment towards the UN Sustainable Development Goal (“SDG”) No. 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities, which aims to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. It is also aligned with Malakoff’s overarching purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities’.
