On 19 October 2018, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) organised a friendly football match with the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) that took place at Presint 8, Putrajaya. The objective of the match is to strengthen the rapport between Malakoff and MESTECC at the working level.

The game kicked off at 8:30pm and saw both teams attacking one after the other in the pitch. MESTECC’s Mohd Shahrizal’s attempt within minutes from the start of the game succeeded in scoring the opening goal. It didn’t take long for Malakoff to counter-attack and Syed Abdullah equalized the score. The first half ended with a 1-1 draw.

The second half saw a more intensed game between the teams in an attempt to take home the challenge trophy. Both teams worked hard to tip the balance of the score in their favour but in the end, Abdul Azim scored the second goal for MESTECC, followed by another goal from Mohd Shahrizal. That sealed the fate of the match.

With the final result of 3-1, MESTECC won the match and took home the challenge trophy.
