Back Subrina Thiagarajah Head, Operations & Project Management Services Department Subrina Thiagarajah, a Malaysian, holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) (Hons) from University Technology of Malaysia (UTM). She started her career with Malakoff in 1994, as a Project Executive in Technical Services & QA department. During her 27-year career in Malakoff, she gained vast experience and leadership skills in the power and water industry both in Malaysia and internationally. Prior to being seconded to a Malakoff associated company in Oman, she was the Vice President of Commercial, Asset Management Division. Her duties mainly focused on asset management, commercial negotiations and contractual management of the key project agreements with the relevant utilities, government authorities and Operations & Maintenance (“O&M”) contractors, where Malakoff’s operating assets were located. She was also involved in the commercial review and negotiations for Malakoff’s business development initiatives in power and water projects in South-East Asia, South Asia and the Middle East region. One of her latest achievements at Malakoff includes being the Project Director for the winning bid of the Ghubrah Independent Water Plant in Oman in 2012. She was then seconded to Muscat City Desalination Company (“MCDC”) in Muscat, Oman as its Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) for a period of five years until 31 October 2020. At MCDC, she oversaw the Ghubrah Independent Water plant operation and led the successful Initial Public Offering (“IPO”) of the company on the Muscat Securities Market (“MSM”) in 2018. After her stint in Oman, she has now returned to the Company as the Head of Operations & Project Management Services (“OPMS”) Division commencing from 1 November 2020.

Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Perlawanan Boling Malakoff-TNB Eratkan Hubungan Kerjasama 21 October 2016 Pada 22 Oktober 2016, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) telah menganjurkan perlawanan boling persahabatan di antara warga kerja Malakoff KL HQ dan Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) bertempat di U-Bowl, One Utama, Damansara. Perlawanan persahabatan ini, yang telah dianjurkan semenjak tahun lepas, bertujuan untuk mengeratkan silaturrahim di antara warga kerja Malakoff dan TNB dalam suasana santai. Seramai 60 peserta, iaitu 40 dari TNB dan 20 dari Malakoff, tidak melepaskan peluang untuk mempamerkan aksi cemerlang bagi mencapai pungutan mata yang tertinggi untuk memenangi hadiah kategori berkumpulan dan individu. Di akhir perlawanan, En. Hasyim Yahya dari TNB muncul juara kategori individu, manakala juara berkumpulan pula dimenangi oleh Kumpulan 10, yang terdiri dari En. Hasyim Yahya, En. Ahmad Jaezan, En. Zuliadi dan En. Sharullizam. En. Adam Idrus selaku Pengurus pasukan boling TNB mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Malakoff kerana menjemput TNB kali ini. “Pelbagai jabatan dari TNB telah turut serta dan sekaligus membantu membina hubungan baik di antara warga kerja TNB dan Malakoff. Hubungan yang terjalin melalui acara sukan adalah tidak terbatas,” ujar beliau. Malakoff merakamkan penghargaan dan terima kasih kepada semua peserta, terutamanya pihak TNB kerana sudi menjayakan perlawanan boling kali ini. Semoga hubungan usahasama di antara TNB dan Malakoff akan terus terjalin dan kita berjumpa lagi tahun hadapan!

Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back COVID-19 Alert - Notice from Joint Management Body regarding the Fake News 2 March 2020 General Guideline (Building Administration) Date : 3rd March 2020 Subject : Spreading Fake News Dear Valued Tenants, It has come to our attention that there are news circulating concerning the tenants of Plaza Sentral and also the surrounding area, especially through WhatsApp. The message is as follows: “Guys, whoever coming to KL Sentral please wear your mask, Malakoff building has been quarantined and we are asked to work from home tomorrow onwards. They are shutting down the north and east side of Building at KL Sentral Area, positive Corona virus for the maintenance workers” On behalf of Plaza Sentral Joint Management Body (JMB) and also Building Management, we would like to confirm that the news are fabricated and totally untrue . Malakoff is not ceasing its operations at KL Sentral nor do any of their workers have reportedly contracted the Corona or COVID-19 virus. We strongly urged the tenants or anyone in that matter to refrain from spreading fake news as this has caused fear and panic throughout the KL Sentral community. This is also in line with Seksyen 233 Akta Komunikasi dan Multimedia (AKM) 1998 and JMB shall take legal action if it is deemed necessary to do so. Do not share unvalidated news. With that, to avoid this confusion, please contact us for validation and confirmation via the details furnished below. Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff sponsors EDMAT-34 program for engineering undergraduates in ASEAN 3 July 2012 The chants and cheers from the participants were still heard as the VIPs left the ballroom at the closing ceremony of the 34th Engineering, Development, Motivation and Awareness Training or EDMAT-34, recently. The participants congratulated and cheered each other for the fabulous time that they had during the program. EDMAT-34, sponsored by Malakoff, was held from 30th June to 7th July 2012, involved 91 participants from Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Representative from Malakoff, En Mohd Shokri Daud, Vice President, Technical Support Group, was impressed with the energy and enthusiasm reflected by the participants at the closing ceremony. He said that the participants have indeed benefited from the program by showing tremendous amount of self-esteem and confidence. He added that with the right training and adequate knowledge in engineering, they will certainly stand out at interviews and easily secure a job with future employers. The participants were exposed to public speaking, forums, debates and games to improve their inter-personal skills, self-confidence and creative thinking. En Mohamad Fardaus Rahmat from Human Resource department of Malakoff gave a talk on career opportunities in the power industry to the participants and provided them with information on career paths and advancements for undergraduates of various engineering disciplines. The participants were also taken to site visits, which included Tanjung Bin Power Plant, owned by Malakoff. Besides visiting the plant, they were given a talk on the running of the plant, which is a 2,100MW coal-fired power plant, the largest privately-owned plant of its kind in Malaysia. Mr Jacky Lee, head of the organizing committee of EDMAT-34, said that the program has been around since 1978 and is organized annually by the Engineering Society of University Malaya. EDMAT is a non-profit program aimed to develop, motivate and create awareness in engineering undergraduates and has attracted the participation of overseas universities in the ASEAN region. "EDMAT is a comprehensive program which covers all the aspects to accomplish both mental and physical development of the participants. It is also aimed to strike a balance between academic and interpersonal development of the undergraduates. The participants came from various backgrounds and encourages an exchange of culture amongst the two countries," he added. Miss Rini Indah, a participant from Indonesia, only had praises for the program. “EDMAT-34 has opened my eyes and given me a chance to get acquainted with fellow participants with the same interest. The program also gave me the opportunity to improve my public speaking skills and I am impressed with the site visits where we get a sneak preview of our future working life.” As an engineering company with a stronghold in the power industry, Malakoff will continue to support such beneficial programs organized by engineering students in the future. In addition to strengthening its branding at the university, program such as this is also aimed to put Malakoff in the radar as an employer of choice and to attract the right talents to join its workforce after they graduate in their respective disciplines.
