Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff Receives Commendation for its CSR Efforts in Pontian 30 August 2018 In conjunction with the Merdeka Celebration on 31 August 2018, Malakoff Corporation Berhad received an “Anugerah Khas” or Special Award in recognition for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes in Pontian, in particular, in Mukim Serkat where Malakoff has operations. The award was presented by Exco for State Women and Tourism Development, YB Liow Cai Tung who was the “Wakil Rasmi” of Menteri Besar Johor for the said Merdeka celebration. En Mohd Kopli Yunus, the Plant Manager of Tanjung Bin Power Plant, received the Award on Malakoff’s behalf. Also present at the award presentation were YB Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, Pontian Member of Parliament; YB Taqiuddin Che’ Man, Pulai Sebatang State Assemblyman; YB Yeo Tung Siong, Pekan Nanas State Assemblyman; YB Datuk Ir Hasni Mohammad, Benut State Assemblyman; Yang Berusaha Mohd Shukri Mohd. Masbah, Pontian District Officer; Yang Berusaha Nor Syazlan Abd Razak, Yang Dipertua Majlis Daerah Pontian; Heads and officers of various of departments and agencies in Pontian District. Approximately 10,000 people took part in the celebration. In the citation of the Award, Malakoff was described as a strong supporter of CSR programmes especially for the local community in Mukim Serkat, Pontian.

Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff Holds HR2U Day 2023 14 September 2023 Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) held a HR2U Day series on 14 September 2023 at Lumut Power Plant (“LPP”), on 15 September 2023 at Prai Power Plant (“Prai”), on 18 September 2023 at Tanjung Bin Power Plant (“TBPP”) and on 22 September 2023 at Tanjung Bin Energy ("TBE") and Malakoff HQ. Aimed at encouraging a two-way communication where employees are kept updated on the People Division’s strategic direction and company policies, this annual engagement event also served as a platform for employees from all business units to raise their concerns pertaining employee welfare. Aside from consultation booths, there were also numerous exhibition booths set up by various health and wellness institutions and vendors to provide Malakoff employees with free health screenings, as well as consultation services, to inculcate awareness on the importance of upkeeping a healthy lifestyle. A heart-warming blood donation drive was also organised, attracting 147 compassionate donors to reach a common goal of potentially saving someone’s life. The event's highlight unfolded as Senior Manager of Industrial Relations & Employee Relations, Encik Bakhtiar Ismail delivered an informative presentation on Malakoff’s new Disciplinary Consequence Management. He outlined a range of minor and major misconducts, offering attendees a clear understanding of the associated consequences. The event then proceeded with an integrity talk entitled “Inculcating Integrity Culture at Workplace” led by Chairman of National Dakwah Council Malaysia, Ustaz Zulramli M. Razali that was aimed to foster an unwavering integrity culture within the workforce, with a specific focus on enhancing day-to-day business ethics. The talk was also broadcasted live to all Malakoff’s plant locations, as well as its wholly-owned subsidiary, Alam Flora Sdn Bhd. Overall, this event had successfully garnered overwhelming support and participation from all involved. The HR2U event was organised as part of Malakoff’s initiatives to enhance its employee engagement activities through providing an engaging and stimulating communication platform. It is also in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 8 which promotes inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all.

Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff Empowers Future Leaders 15 April 2014 21 UNITEN Students Completed Company’s Talent Development Programme Malakoff is pleased to announce that a total of 21 promising undergraduates from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) have officially completed the Malakoff-UNITEN Talent Acceleration Programme (MUTAP), recently. The programme is a part of its commitment to nurture young Malaysians to become future leaders. The talent development effort initiated by Malakoff and UNITEN in collaboration with Leaderonomics offers students a year-long experiential learning programme, enabling them to develop new skills including critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, communication, creativity and innovation through hands-on experience as well as coaching sessions. Speaking at the event, Siti Hajar Mohd Dahlan, Vice President, Corporate Services Division, Malakoff, said, “At Malakoff, we proactively engage with local universities and contribute to the development of young talents through efforts including MUTAP, in line with Malaysia’s vision to invest in human capital as a key enabler to build a knowledge-intensive and high-income nation.” “Through MUTAP, we hope to nurture our bright graduates for leadership roles with hands-on job experience and ample opportunities to develop their potential. This is part of our commitment to work with local universities to ensure a sustainable pipeline of talent for the industry,” she added. 18 students from Faculty of Engineering and 3 from Faculty of Information Technology of UNITEN also had the opportunity to work with an NGO on a community project and visit Malakoff’s Lumut Power Plant to get a closer look at the working environment. The ceremony also saw 25 students from the Leadership Club graduated from their program. The Club, kicked off by Malakoff, comprised of students from various faculties and age group pledging to spearhead youth leadership at the university. The MUTAP graduates worked with “Free Tree Society”, an environmental NGO, to build plant nurseries and bird houses to aid environmental preservation in the heart of Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. Meanwhile, Leadership Club graduates lent a hand to “Rumah Keluarga Kami” in Kajang, Selangor, by raising funds for the orphanage and beautifying the Home to make it more comfortable for its inhabitants. Mejar (Kehormat) Dato’ Prof. Madya Dr Sha’ari Md Nor, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Sultan Ahmad Shah campus, UNITEN said, “We take pride in promoting lifelong and continuous learning in our students as we firmly believe that we need to be constantly exposed to new skills and knowledge in order to remain competitive in today’s economic environment.” “I applaud Malakoff’s long-term commitment and collaboration in ensuring that our graduates are well equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their careers through various efforts including MUTAP,” he added. Over and above MUTAP, Malakoff initiated the “Share Us Your Love” programme in 2010 as a platform for UNITEN students to conduct a motivation and self-development camp for the children of Rumah Jagaan Siraman Kasih. The following year, the Company partnered with the graduates again for the project and helped mentor over 200 students from Sekolah Agama Rakyat Al-Ansar, specifically on self-development and religious education. Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Piala Pusingan Milik Suruhanjaya Tenaga 17 April 2018 Pada 18 April yang lalu telah berlangsung perlawanan bola sepak persahabatan tahunan di antara Malakoff dan Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) di TSI Arena, Cyberjaya. Objektif penganjuran perlawanan ini adalah untuk mengeratkan lagi silaturahim yang telah sedia terjalin di antara warga kerja ST dan Malakoff. Separuh masa pertama menyaksikan kedua-dua pasukan memberi aksi bertenaga dan saling berbalas serangan namun berakhir tanpa sebarang jaringan. Separuh masa kedua menyaksikan aksi sengit kedua-dua pasukan untuk mendapatkan gol pertama. Percubaan demi percubaan kemudian membuahkan hasil apabila ST berjaya memperolehi gol pertama menerusi Mohd Hazwan Abdul Rahman yang menjadi gol tunggal perlawanan. Aksi rancak permainan kedua-dua pasukan dan kerjasama erat di antara setiap pemain jelas kelihatan. Walaupun hujan lebat turun mencurah-curah, namun semangat kesukanan kedua-dua pasukan wajar diberi pujian. Perlawanan berakhir dengan keputusan ST 1- Malakoff 0 sekaligus menyaksikan ST membawa pulang piala pusingan dari tangan Malakoff. Walaupun nasib tidak menyebelahi pasukan Malakoff, namun kehadiran para penyokong dari kedua-dua buah pasukan ternyata memberi semangat dan kekuatan untuk para pemain mempamerkan aksi terbaik mereka. Syabas diucapkan kepada kedua-dua pasukan. Ribuan terima kasih diucapkan kepada pihak ST kerana sudi menerima jemputan perlawanan persahabatan kali ini. Semoga bertemu lagi di perlawanan yang akan datang.

Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff Celebrates Aidiladha with Generous Contributions to Mukim Serkat and Segari 13 June 2024 On 14 June 2024, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) handed over seven (7) cows for the Aidil Adha celebrations to the local communities in Mukim Serkat, Johor, Segari in Perak and Prai, Penang. The contributions worth RM42,000.00 marks Malakoff’s commitment as a responsible corporate citizen to support the communities surrounding its operational areas, highlighting the company’s social responsibility. Both Plant Managers from Tanjung Bin Power Plant (“TBPP”), Encik Mohammad Amiruddin Kamaluddin and Lumut Power Plant (“LPP”), Tuan Haji Anwar Faisal Mohammed Din, officiated the ceremonial handover of the sacrificial cows as part of the Hari Raya Aidiladha customary celebration. Subsequent to the ritual, the meat was distributed in packets to benefit the less fortunate residents in the surrounding areas. This act not only upholds religious traditions but also fosters the ‘silaturrahim’ among local communities, exemplifying the values of compassion during this festive season. Besides enhancing relationships with the local communities, it is hoped that CSR initiatives like these will further cultivate the spirit of ‘giving back to the community’ while fostering a stronger bond between one another. This initiative is part of Malakoff’s Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) undertakings, focusing on the Community pillar. It demonstrates Malakoff’s continuous commitment to supporting community development in areas where its plants operate. Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff Working Arrangement During Control Movement Order 16 March 2020 Malakoff Working Arrangement During Control Movement Order In line with the Government’s directive to enforce a Control Movement Order nationwide as announced by the Prime Minister yesterday, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) has decided to implement a Work from Home (“WFH”) arrangement to be effective from 18 March (Wednesday) until 31 March 2020 (Tuesday) to all Malakoff KLHQ staff at Plaza Sentral, Kuala Lumpur. However, this arrangement excludes all our domestic plants (Tanjung Bin Power Plant, Tanjung Bin Energy Power Plant, Lumut Power Plant & Prai Power Plant) and Malakoff Utilities Sdn Bhd (“MUSB”) personnel as they fall under “essential services” and are required to continue operating as normal during this 14-day Control Movement Order. MUSB will operate as normal at Plaza Sentral with the following changes: Customer Service Office will be closed to customers and third parties, but all CSAs will be present in office to attend to customer queries. Payments will be done online, or via cheque drop-in box. Applications for electricity can be done through email (or customers can drop in their applications in our drop-in box). Billing and CC activities go on as normal, except for temporary suspension of disconnection activities Malakoff will continue to monitor the situation and we’ll update all our stakeholders accordingly. Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff Launches ‘Back to School’ Programme in Pontian 9 January 2021 On 10th January 2021, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”), in collaboration with the State Executive Council of Johor, launched the ‘Back to School’ programme as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) Education Programme. The launch was officiated by Yang Berhormat Tuan Haji Mazlan bin Bujang, the State EXCO of Education, Information, Heritage and Culture. Encik Jasni Bin Omar, District of Pontian Education Director and Tanjung Bin Power (“TBP”) Plant Manager, Encik Kopli Yunus were also in attendance during the launching ceremony. The programme is aimed at providing the basic necessities such as school bags, stationery and school uniforms for primary school children before the start of the school year. It also serves as a morale boost for the children to elevate their academic performance as well as for the parents by ensuring that the supplies needed are sufficient. A total of 789 students from 27 primary schools from the Kukup and Pekan Nanas districts will benefit from this initiative. “We understand how challenging the past year has been for everyone, with the limitation imposed on business hours and operations. Sacrifices had to be made just to make ends meet. This has prompted me to offer any type of help I could in ensuring the community members’ burden are eased especially when it comes to their children’s education”, said YB Tuan Haji Mazlan in his opening speech. “I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude towards Malakoff for tirelessly initiating a communal effort such as this especially when it concerns the welfare of the children here. I hope this ‘silaturahim’ can continue despite the uncertainties of the current situation that is affecting the country, as well as the rest of the world”. The Malakoff CSR Education Programme has further elevated the company’s brand through community engagement programmes, particularly in areas where we operate. Graciously welcomed by Malakoff's Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali and Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer ("MD & Group CEO") Encik Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib. The visit was also attended by PPZ-MAIWP's General Manager for Operations Encik Azlan Shaari, Deputy General Manager for Dakwah, Zakat and Wakaf Encik Haji Mohd Saufiyuddin Abu Bakar, Special Marketing Unit Manager Encik Ahmad Adha Ahmad Zohdi and Marketing Executive Encik Fikri Ismail. Malakoff has always believed in making impactful contribution to the community and our partnership with PPZ-MAIWP reflects our solid commitment to sustainable community growth through various initiatives, In 2021, we contributed RM225,000 for ‘PPZ-MAIWP‘s Sumbangan Bakul Rezeki’ programme, to assist 1,500 ‘asnaf’(underprivileged) during Extended Movement Control Order (“EMCO”) in Klang Valley. In 2022, our collaborative efforts continued with the ‘Program Ramadan MAIWP bersama Komuniti, allocating RM72,500 for various causes, including ‘Maahad Tahfiz Bustanul Quran’, ‘Rumah Latihan Anak-Anak OKU’, ‘Rumah Amal Asnaf Al Barakh’, ‘Pusat Autism Kuala Lumpur’, ‘Sumbangan Anak Yatim (ATM) – PPZ’, and ‘Majlis Iftar Perdana MAWIP’. While in 2023, our commitment was strengthened with a RM150,000 contribution to the Tunku Azizah Hospital in Kuala Lumpur under the ‘Program Ziarah Ramadan PPZ-MAIWP Bersama Malakoff’. The funds supported essential equipment and initiatives, demonstrating our shared commitment to the well-being of the community. As we step into 2024, Malakoff remains steadfast in its mission to make a positive impact. This aligns with our purpose of “Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities” where we aim to make a meaningful contribution to the community to foster community advancement.
