Back Clive Anthony Smith Chief Operating Officer (Power) Clive Anthony Smith, male, a British citizen, graduated from The Open University, United Kingdom, with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering in 1996. He is also a Chartered Engineer and Fellow Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He joined the Company as the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) on 16 September 2020. He started his career as an Instrument Craft Apprentice at Aberthaw Coal Fired Power Station, United Kingdom and has more than 41 years of working experience in the power industry, both in the UK and overseas. He has a wide knowledge of various technologies in the sector and has extensive experience in Operations, Maintenance and Engineering. Throughout his career, he has held several senior positions including the Management of plants in the UK and the Philippines, leading on strategic challenges and improving overall business performance. It was also during this time that he was engaged for 30 months at Malakoff's Tanjung Bin Power Plant. Prior to joining Malakoff, Clive was the Executive Director of O&M (Coal) at Aboitiz Power Corporation, in the Philippines. As the COO, Clive plays a key role in ensuring that the Group achieves its strategic objectives and results from both the operational and financial perspectives.
